Hi Porsche Friends,
The first Pikes Peak Hill Climb Experience Tour this year is here once again! Pikes Peak Hill Climb royalty, Chris Lennon, has graciously offered to do this tour once again.
This will be a tour up Pikes Peak led by Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Champion and Alpine Mountain Region Past President, Chris Lennon. It will focus on the legendary race (second only to the Indy 500 in longevity) and will travel what’s commonly referred to as “the most beautiful racecourse in the world”.
The tour will begin at the Porsche Colorado Springs dealership. Participants will receive an autographed soft cover copy of “The Peak of Racing”, a beautiful coffee table book covering the 100+ year history of the race and all 156 hair-raising turns (one book per car).
We will then head directly to the mountain itself, stopping along the way where interesting and entertaining stories will be shared, and any questions answered. Stops are expected to be at the pit/paddock area for the race, Glen Cove, and Devil’s Playground (which offers a view of about 4 miles of the 12.41 mile course). The tour will conclude on the 14,115 foot summit. There, we will visit the brand-new Summit House, and enjoy gorgeous vistas before heading back down on your own for a stop at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Experience at the Penrose Heritage Museum before heading to a delicious lunch/supper (lupper) at PizzAmore. Bring snacks or order something at the Visitor's Center at the very top if you get hungry.
