Registration opens Sept 9th at 6pm
Our October Off-Road Fall Colors Tour will be exploring the area around Tarryall Reservoir. We have not explored this part of Park County on an RMR off-road tour before. We will hopefully see the aspens turning but if not, the peacefulness and beauty of the area can still be enjoyed. The Tarryall area, once known for gold mining in the 1850’s and 60’s is now mostly known for cattle ranching. The reservoir was originally intended to be used as a fish hatchery, remnants of which can still be seen today. Constructed between 1929 and 1931, it now serves for great fishing and wildlife habitats as well as supporting ranching.
This is an easy and relaxing off-road tour. We will start our tour in Conifer, CO where snacks, coffee and restrooms are available. The tour ends in Florissant, CO at the Iron Tree and Funky town brewery. Lunch is not included in the tour so feel free to skip the restaurant at the end of the tour. During registration, there will be an opportunity to add a donation for the Wounded Warrior Project.
