You’ve just purchased your dream car; a Porsche!  Or maybe you’ve owned that beauty for a number of years and have been hearing just how great these cars are out on a race track or at an autocross. Now you are curious.  Could you actually drive on a track or speed through an autocross course in your pride and joy?  Of course you can!!

Join us at our fourth annual “HPDE/Autocross 101” class that we will be holding on Saturday, March 28, 2020, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 3R Racing in Englewood, CO.  This place is amazing, and during your training you will be surrounded by all types of race cars. In this class you will learn all about how to register for events, how to prepare your car for the track, pre-tech, what to do when you arrive at the track, what our instructors will teach you, possible wear and tear on the car, what is an Autocross, what is a Driver’s Education event, and much more.

We will have various speakers who can answer all the questions you might have before your first track experience.

We are going to restrict this event to 60 Porsche Club members, so register early to guarantee a spot!  Of course any member is welcome, but we’re really trying to reach those of you who have considered participating in an HPDE/Autocross, but for whatever reason, have never done so. Sign up at: msreg.com/HPDE-AX101.

This is a FREE class – and we’ll have doughnuts and coffee!

Hope to see you there!

Dear members,

I wrote to you recently about COVID-19 and the cancellations of events as a result.  As I previously discussed, the RMR Board would review our events on a rolling basis and determine what additional events should be cancelled or postponed.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 has become a national emergency.  Both Governor Polis and President Trump have issued guidance and directives making clear that the RMR Board must take further action:

The April 2nd membership social and April 4th Breakfast Club North were previously cancelled by the Board
April 11th Breakfast Club is cancelled
April 14th Board Meeting will be by phone conference
April 19th Edelweiss Tour is cancelled
April 25-26 Autocross and School is cancelled/postponed
May 2-3 HPDE at HPR is cancelled
May 2nd Helga’s Tour is cancelled

We have “penciled in” the autocross school on the weekend of May 30th assuming we can resume events at that time.  We will provide you more information as the date nears.

The Board is continuing its policy to review later socials, tours and driving events on a rolling basis, and determine what action to take based upon the status of COVID-19.

I continue to be in contact with the presidents of other large PCA regions.  The communications are allowing adoption of consistent policies.

We will keep you advised of the quickly evolving COVID-19 developments related to RMR.

By and for the Board of the Rocky Mountain Region, Porsche Club of America, Inc.
