The committee has nominated the following Candidates for RMR’s Board of Directors for 2025.

Please welcome:

Proposed President: Eric Elliff

I joined PCA-RMR in 2009 when I purchased my first Porsche, a Cayman S.  With the encouragement of Kathy Fricke, I began volunteering for the region, primarily working—and then running—grid for Driver Education events and the club race.  Many grids (and Porsches) later, the driving bug ultimately bit and I acquired a 944 S2, which I now run at DEs.  It’s been a lot of fun.  I have served as your secretary for two years then as first vice president starting in 2023.  During that time, I learned the intricacies of running our region, including socials, tours, and autocrosses, in addition to DEs.  The board and our wonderful cadre of volunteers form a dedicated and hard-working group.  I have been impressed by their diligence and loyalty to the region, and it would be my honor to be elected as your 2025 president.

Proposed 1st Vice President:  Holly Jackson

My love for Porsche started when I was about 8 years old and I saw a 911 on the road and thought, “What was that?!”.  A little later someone in my neighborhood had a black 911 Cabriolet.  Even though I was very shy at that young age, I flagged down the driver while riding my bicycle with a girlfriend.  I asked for a ride!  Well after we both got permission, we hopped in the back seat and had a fun ride around the neighborhood.  I was hooked.

Fast forward many years, and I got my car, a 1980 911 Targa SC.  I just love this body style.  These cars have so much personality.  Needless to say, I was tickled and living a surreal life.  I always planned on owning a Porsche, but didn’t know when.   Once I had the car, my godfather, suggested I join PCA.  I did and started out slow and not knowing anyone.  Later, we acquired another Porsche, this time a Macan S.  Currently, I have many other Porsche cars, but they are mostly Hot Wheels to 1:18 scale cars!

I have been a club member since 2011.  I started early on volunteering.  I really enjoy volunteering and helping out the club.  I was Membership Chair for over 8 years.  I then became the RMR Secretary and finishing out my 2nd year.  I am honored to be asked to step up to being the 1st Vice President.  Currently I am the RMR Tour Chair as well as a member of the National Tour Committee.  I have met some wonderful friends all throughout PCA.  The people and the events keep me involved.  I continue to learn more all the time about our club and PCA. I have made many new friends and continue to do so!  RMR has many wonderful volunteers that make this club awesome.  I am excited to continue working with all the volunteers.

Proposed 2nd Vice President:  Doug Wiebe

I have always been interested in sports cars.  After one Triumph TR4 and one Datsun 240Z, my interest quickly turned to German marques.  Many Audis and BMWs have been in our garage over the following years. In 2008, I retired from a career in Civil Engineering and Project Management, turning my attention to a lifelong passion for automobiles. I bought a one-year-old Cayman S and joined the Porsche Club of America.  During this time with PCA, I served as Membership Chair and President of the Diablo Chapter in Northern California.  In 2013, my wife, Carol, and I moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado, to be closer to our family. Since then, I’ve been an active member of the local community, taking and facilitating OLLI classes, and exploring my creative side through writing sci-fi stories.  I am currently a Tour Leader for RMR and have chaired the past two Quadruple Bypass Tours, along with two of the recent Edelweiss Tours.  As a dedicated Porsche enthusiast, our garage is home to a 718 Cayman GTS and a Macan S.  I would be honored to be elected to the board of this Chapter.

Proposed Secretary:  Cherie Talbert

In 2016, I joined the RMR PCA Club after attending my first Ladies’ Day event at the Colorado State Patrol track. Back then, I didn’t yet own a Porsche, so I used my Mercedes daily driver. When I saw an ad for the event, I registered right away! I’ve always had a passion for high-performance driving, (my dad raced Formula Vee’s through SCCA), and the following year my husband surprised me with a Porsche. Since then, I’ve been fully involved with the club.

I’ve always been a keen driver – anything with a motor, I want to drive it. From boats, snowmobiles, and mini-bikes to large tractors, semi-trucks, dinghies, side-by-sides, drag racing cars, and even a small plane. One summer, I even instructed drivers training to pass on real skills to future drivers.

Both of us, Al and I, are very active in the RMR PCA club. Al serves as the tech chair for the club, handles grid for nearly every HPDE, acts as my mechanic, and wholeheartedly supports my passion. I’ve chaired the first post-COVID HPDE event, the 2021 Club Race, and co-chaired Ladies’ Day for the last three years. We enjoy club tours, socials, and truly embody the club motto, “It’s not just the cars, it’s the people.”

My dedication to giving back is deep-rooted. For instance, I’ve been a mentor to a young lady for 7 years through the Challenge Foundation – an organization that helps bright, ambitious, and hard-working students escape the cycle of poverty through educational opportunities. Additionally, I’m an Executive Board member of a Big 10 University Women’s Leadership Institute, a former Advisor to the Dean of the College of Social Science at the University of Colorado Denver, as well as the past President of several professional Boards and Committees. I would be honored and excited to expand my involvement with this club by serving on its Board.

Proposed HighGear Editor:  Gene Davis

I have always admired foreign built cars, especially the smaller sports cars.  While my friends all wanted 1960’s muscle cars, I wanted a 911. A 911 stirred something in my soul. Just looking at it screamed ‘DRIVE ME’’. I went through two BMW’s before I finally acquired my dream 15 years ago after my wife surprised me with a two-day Porsche driving school in Birmingham, AL. My involvement with RMR-PCA occurred purely by chance when I mentioned that I had a 911 to two members of an Avalanche ticket confab I had joined, Mike Quigley and Dan Carlson. Within a month I was a new member and experiencing my first HPDE at High Plains. I have slid down the slippery slope ever since, now owning a 924 and 944, both track cars. When I had not seen the HighGear Newsletter after a few months, I wondered what had happened to it but gave it no significant concern. However, when I found out that it had stopped because of a lack of an editor, I gave the newsletter some thought. I decided that the brief experience I had with desktop publishing might qualify me as a candidate. I have always liked to write, so why not? I contacted Bill Simon, the past ‘world class editor’ and, with Scott Henderson’s blessing, he encouraged me to try it. I am now preparing my inaugural edition and drinking through a fire hose learning graphic design software. I welcome this opportunity and am honored to be a candidate for the board of RMR-PCA.

Proposed Treasurer:  Dexter Finley

My love for Porsche started with, of all things, a video game: Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed. And it was because of that game that I fell in love with the shape of the 944. I bought my very first Porsche, a 944 Turbo, in May of 2020, and absolutely love it. Now, I realize that of all the Porsches I could have fallen for, I chose the front-engine, water-cooled, four cylinder that was meant to replace the 911. I’m sorry? To be fair, I grew up as a middle, step-child, so I think it’s probably the right choice. I enjoy finance as well, and have been working in real estate finance for about 12 years. I am excited to help serve as your Treasurer.

Proposed Membership Chair:  Grace Kennedy

Grace Kennedy grew up in Hudson, Colorado, and has been actively involved in the Porsche Club of America Rocky Mountain Region for over three years. Her journey with the club began after her dad, Rex Kennedy, and brother, Grant Kennedy, started participating in High-Performance Driver Education (HPDE) events at High Plains Raceway. She soon got hooked on driving these amazing cars on the track and has done every HPDE for the past 2.5 years. Her background as a competitive equestrian quickly translated to her eagerness for faster track times and constant improvement of her driving abilities. Drawn to the club’s vibrant social scene and the opportunity to meet so many new faces, Grace quickly became a familiar presence at events.

In early 2024, Grace took over the role of membership chair from Lisa and has thoroughly enjoyed welcoming new members and getting to know them at various socials and track events at High Plains. With a passion for fostering a welcoming environment, Grace is committed to bringing a fresh perspective to the club and encouraging new members to get involved in the fantastic events and activities the Porsche Club offers.

Past President: Scott Henderson

My, how time flies! It’s already time to nominate and plan for RMR’s 2025 Board of Directors. After 2 years in a row as First Vice President, Eric Elliff has served RMR in a variety of roles – on Grid, as an HPDE instructor, on the Board as Secretary and both Vice Presidents, he’s now ready/willing to serve as our President. He’s well-prepared, a “natural” and will do a great job for RMR!

I’ve been in RMR since 2006, served as Secretary, both Vice Presidents and this year as President.  I’ll be moving to Past President in 2025, remain a member of the Board and provide whatever assistance I can as the club moves forward. I plan to continue working on the Chief Driving Instructor Team and the Safety Team, as well.

The teamwork on the Board and within the club has been very rewarding and made my work considerably easier.  Thank you all for the privilege of serving as RMR President!

Please submit any comments or suggestions to Kathy Fricke, Nominating Committee Chair, by Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

RMR members will have the opportunity to accept the Committee’s nominations at the November membership meeting.

If you intend to nominate anyone from the floor for a Board position, please submit the proposal in writing to Kathy Fricke, Nominating Committee Chair, at katfricke@msn.com on or before Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Respectfully submitted,

RMR Nominating Committee for 2025 RMR Board of Directors
